PHOTO WORKSHOP
'Costa Rica'
November 2-14th 2024
(Full)
Ahhhhh Costa Rica! A tropical destination that makes more than one dream, me first! Even today, I don't understand how such a small country can contain so many treasures; white sand beaches, impressive volcanoes. spectacular waterfalls, lush forests, mountains that are lost in the clouds... We will have the chance to go on a photographic quest in one of the countries with the richest biodiversity in the world.
Multicolored birds
Our favorite subjects will be tropical birds such as toucans, parrots, tanagers and so on! Throughout the trip, we will visit the best places to photograph these colorful birds in the most beautiful set-ups. Perches covered with mosses, climbing plants and bromeliads will be placed for our attention and most of the time, it will happen directly at the hotel where we will spend the night!
Landscapes, macro & mammals
Tropical birds aren't the only ones that attract photographers to Costa Rica! Amphibians also offer incredible opportunities. The most popular is undoubtedly the red-eyed tree frog which is the emblem of the country. We'll spend half a day in a reserve devoting ourselves to batrachians and Costa Rican snakes during a macro photography session.
Although landscape photography is not the main goal, we will make a few stops to photograph some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country. During our journey, we will also always keep the eyes open to find mammals. Some of the most common are sloths, coatis and capuchins!
Birds of prey
Birds of prey are ubiquitous in Costa Rica and we will do everything in our power to find some of the most photogenic species. Among other things, we will spend a morning in a hide to photograph the king vultures and we'll explore the tropical forest with a local guide in search of owls.
Wading birds
We will go to the Pacific coast where life abounds in order to make private boat trips to photograph herons, egrets, ibis... We should also have the chance to photograph many species of kingfishers, eagles, caracaras, ducks and more!
Hummingbirds
With fifty species present in Costa Rica, hummingbirds have plenty to keep us busy! We will find original ways to photograph these beautiful little birds. Our multiple destinations will allow us to photograph several species including those at high altitude. Among other things, we will spend a morning photographing the snowcap and black-crested coquette.
